Some days the objective is to chillax. Other days, it is a mad dash to get that “honey-do” list completed by lunch. However, most of the time, everyone is working for the weekend. It seems a shame to live 365 days a year just so you can enjoy 104 moments of happiness, of which, most of those happy moments are spent traveling to the Happy Place so the fun can begin.
That is why, for me, I have “the Time of your Life!” everyday. Now… you have to understand that it doesn’t mean I get to do what I want without any cares; nor does it mean that only good things fill my sand bucket. What it does mean is I have the choice, everyday, to decide what kind of an adventure awaits me. I always choose “the Time of your Life!”. (The great thing about your life is you have the choice too!)
So… with that thought, I created “the Time of your Life!”. It is a non-musical anthem to the adventurer who lives within each of us. It’s for the little boy or girl that we once were, who was fearless and always anxious to explore the coming day. It is a battle cry for living and not becoming a road sign on the adventure highway.
I am reminded, almost daily, of how few days we have to sail our boat through the inter-coastal waterways of life. I see children who believe Jimmy staring at them is the end of the world. I pass adults that never seem to smile and wonder where their paradise begins. We don’t get to save our days like money in the bank. Living life IS NOT something that happens at a future date. From the moment our feet hit the sand until we sail over the horizon for the final time, life is meant to be explored with sand in the cracks and fruit drinks on the table.
When the days begin to roll together, take a deep breath and spend a little time exploring the sandy hills of “the Time of your Life!”. Then pick up the phone, call the travel agent, pack the flip-flops, grab your favorite travel buddy, leave the Speedo and make a beeline for your own Time of your life! You will never be sorry you missed a day of work.
