What do you mean the Golden Gate Bridge is not in Idaho? Well…poop!
But…the Palm tree IS the state flower? Right?
Normally, I create works of art from the deep recesses of my mind. Finding the gems that become the pearls within the memories of my well-lived life. However, this piece came about as I sat at the funeral of my wife’s (Whitney) long lost and recently found aunt. (Yes, that’s a story for another time.) While I was at the funeral, I realized the value of a person’s life is not defined by what they have done but is based on the love that envelopes’ their soul at the end of the journey in this physical body. If love could be used as dollars, Whitney’s aunt would have been a billionaire!
In loving memory of
Diane Lucille Babcock

“The Sun always shines” is for Diane’s dash. (The little hyphen between the beginning and the end.) Although it is only a 1\8″ to 1\4″ in length, it contains all that we have been. Within the dash is the collection of one’s joys, cheers and loves; the shoulda’s, woulda’s, coulda’s and the damn right I did’s.
Everyone’s dash stands for something. For Diane, her dash is about family love. (The love she gave; the love she lost; the love she found and the love she received.) Diane wasn’t perfect, but so few people are. However her love, like The Sun; will always shine. So whenever you feel the warm rays of the Sun, know that an angel is looking over your shoulder…and you’d better find a QuikTrip because there is a 52 ounce drink waitin’ and Diane’s thirsty!
Don’t be afraid to Live… it’s the mistakes that make for a great dash.
