Therapy in a frame. For me, it beats paying somebody for a mind-invasion any day of the week.
To be able to create, I have to release any demons chasing me. The release not only clears my mind “for the good stuff” but it allows me, as I get closer to that beach chair, to realize, nothing is as important as living your life to the “best” of your abilities. It gives balance for everything else.
What is “best”? The great thing about your life is you get to decide! For some, it’s Wal-mart or Costco working just under the maximum hours required to be considered a full-time employee. For others, it’s a Hollywood existence with red carpet, paparazzi, and autographs to sign. Still others believe public service makes them “best”.
For me, the “best” is “Living on Island Time” and surrounding myself with an island state-of-mind. Trying, each day, to stay true to myself but at the same time making my family (wife, son, daughter, mom, dad, brother) proud. Some days…I even succeed, but I always fight. Giving up, Giving in, and Giving out don’t belong on the island.
“Living on Island Time” is the best place I’ve ever been. Although it may just be a shack, when it sits on the shores your paradise it becomes your own personal mansion. (Support staff optional) I don’t believe everyone should give up dress shoes and high heels for tennis shoes and sandals. I do believe everyone can benefit from a little slower pace, taking just a few minutes of each day to be truly thankful for the treasures God has given us and having hope for the gems still to be discovered.
The good thing about “Living on Island Time” is no matter where you go or what you do, once you understand the benefits, you can always visit an “island paradise” in your mind. So take “Living on Island Time” with you to remind you of the simple things and the importance of a life lived to the “best” of your abilities. It beats the heck out of paying for psychoanalysis!
