Wow…another first! Living life in the valley of wine country. Who knew?
The paths our lives take us. If you have seen much of my work you know that board shorts and sandals intertwined with surf and sand lead to one happy beach bum. However, in March 2009 I met Bruce Spangrud of BDS Enterprises in Las Vegas, NV. We were both doing a home and garden show at the Convention Center. During the course of the show, Bruce said he liked my stuff and if I wanted to display my art in his outdoor living store it would be great with him.
After the show was over, I talked about this opportunity with my wife, Whitney. She also thought this could be a great market.
Well, as things happen, we get busy and move on with matters of the day. As time passed, the business cards got placed in the “To-Do” pile and dust began to gather around the edges.
After several months, I decided to go through the business cards and communicate with the people I had met on my travels. One of those people was Bruce and he was still interested in displaying my art. So a couple more months passed and the chance arose for me to get back to the West coast.
Once again, I contacted Bruce; we set a date and time for an art delivery; and in October of 2009 I was at Bruce’s store on Business Lane in Vegas. Bruce has a great store and I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with him and his sales staff.
Now comes the fun part, as much as he loves my work , just like any good businessperson, he had a vision of a Tuscan-themed piece above one of his outdoor kitchens. Well, who am I to say no!
“Grapes Today…Wine Tomorrow…” is the fruit from my efforts of trying to find my inner wine-country, villa-living persona. I must say…I love it! The items, which comprise the picture, have once again pushed me to be better than I was before I started and the growth is exciting for me to embrace. So if living the wine-life is your own personal idea of paradise, take a close look at “Grapes Today…Wine Tomorrow…” There is a little excitement around every tree and through each window.
