The Artist
Hi,
Like most people, I have a story that ….. although it continues to unfold, the past contains the chapters which bring me to the current page of my personal novel.
At the tender of age of 16, my goal ….. my only goal was to be happy. In that respect, not much has changed. However now, at a much later period in my life, I know the final judgment of my dash comes from God and the only truly valuable items in my life will be the friendships I have experienced, passed through and left behind.
I know people will ask how I got the experience to call myself an artist. The first part of the answer is living life and not being afraid to fail. (Personal Secret: Failure only happens when we cease to move in any direction.) The second part of the answer is courage.
Although courage is not often associated with art, it takes buckets of it to produce something which will last forever. Whether you are making a stroke with a paint brush or a cut with a acetylene torch, that particular action is forever and gone.
I don’t make yard baubles. I build art, with a heavy emphasis on ART. The art is created for the enhancement of the outdoor experience at your home or favorite vacation spot. I don’t produce my art for you, although I do hope you like it and will take some home. It comes from within myself and each tree, surfboard, sunrise or sunset takes a little bit of me and gives it to you…… the public.
The art you see within this website comes from my great love of the islands, any island, and the oceans…. or seas, or rivers, or ponds. Maybe it has more to do with the “idea” of said items. My wife, Whitney, says I am a hopeless romantic. I hope she is right! I do still…..after all these years believe in the goodness of the individual spirit and the ultimate simplicity of life.
So as you peruse through the pictures, imagine the breezes of the island blowing gently across your face and enveloping your body as you embrace the simplicity of an island mindset and find the picture which allows you to take a little holiday every day.
Thanks for your interest,
